I want to make learning joyous and widely available to help people be more thoughtful about the world, take up and participate in spaces, live full lives, and challenge the process.
These values have taken the form of a variety of projects throughout the education realm. I’m particularly interested in learning and education in non-traditional forms and spaces (rather than solely classroom-based), the intersection of international development and education (and Global Feminism), researching the effectiveness of digital/alternative education opportunities, storytelling, culture-based STEM equity, and largely just making things.
As my graduate advisor once said, I “have a lot of interests.” He didn’t mean it as a compliment, but with broad interests has come a broad range of skills. I’m an “ideas person” with a head for logistics, which means I’m excited to dream new dreams and work on almost any new adventure.

Here are some highlights of my work:
-
STEM-Powered Outreach
I created experiential mathematics (and STEM) curricula that exposes participants to female role models, proves they can solve "advanced" topics," and teaches through storytelling. I wrote and facilitated lesson plans on the Math of Secrets (cryptography), Disease Modelling, Graph Theory, and more for SHAD Canada and Future Science Leaders in partnership with Science World Vancouver. I also founded the Femme in STEM project at the University of Denver where we created a curriculum spanning the STEM fields to engage girls in hands-on learning and take advantage of the research and facilities at DU.

Study Hall | Complexly Channel
As the first content hire, I researched, outlined, and began developing each arm of Study Hall content while setting up the content team structure. I then supervised the creation of the How to College series, edited and project managed the Fast Guides to College Majors series, and continue to work on the Credit Courses (coming soon on YouTube and for credit through ASU Universal Learning).
Study Hall is a new channel launched March 2022 and created in partnership with Arizona State University and Crash Course (funded by YouTube) that seeks to help more students get to, succeed in, and graduate college with a focus on 1st-gen students.
-
Crash Course Geography
This 50-episode series is split between physical and human geography at the AP and college-level and tells many of the stories of the Earth. I designed the overall course arc, project-managed the content team (including several writers and SMEs and a fact-checker), edited each script for story, clarity, and tone, and researched additional stories, examples, and topics.
